As part of the celebration of Population and Development Week, the Department of Health (DOH), Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM), Department of Education (DepEd), National Youth Commission (NYC), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the World Health Organization (WHO) today launched a joint campaign for adolescent health and development, including adolescent sexual and reproductive health concerns.

POPCOM: Pandemic causes decline in 2020 births

The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) cited a significant drop in the number of births in 2020, with just 1,516,042 million registered in the country—the lowest number registered since 1986, when only 1,493,995 Filipinos were born—based on a preliminary report of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in June 2021.

World Contraception Day 2021:

Lubhang pinahina ng pandemiya ang pagsasagawa ng mga serbisyo ukol sa pagpa-plano ng pamilya o “family planning,” at ang pamimigay ng “contraceptives” sa buong bansa, na nagdulot ng masamang epekto sa kagalingan o “well-being” ng mga pamilya at kababaihang Pilipino.
